Trade advisory · Importers & exporters

We read the paperwork so a small consignment can cross a border without surprise, and price itself with a margin that survives the journey.

The work

Index of services

  1. Market entry notes

A short written read on a target market — tariff lines, likely duties, and the practical footholds a first shipment tends to find.

  2. Customs & documentation guidance

Walking through commercial invoices, packing lists, and declarations so a clearance reads cleanly and a container is not held for wording.

  3. Sourcing checks

A measured look at a supplier before an order is placed — references, terms, and the quiet signals that separate a partner from a listing.

  4. Margin planning

Landed cost laid out line by line — freight, duty, and handling — so a selling price is chosen with the whole ledger in view.

What we hold to

Two principles

A shipment is only as sound as the paper that travels with it; the ledger, not the pitch, is where trade is won.

Advice should be plain enough to act on before the vessel sails, and honest enough to say when a margin will not hold.

The method

How engagements run

An engagement opens with a conversation about the goods, the route, and the trading partners already in view. We gather what exists — quotes, draft invoices, supplier notes — and read them against the market that a consignment is actually headed into, rather than the one it was imagined for.

From there the work turns written. A market entry note, a documentation walk-through, or a landed-cost sheet takes shape as a plain document a small importer or exporter can carry into their own negotiations. Nothing is left as a slide; everything is written to be reread when the freight forwarder calls back with a question.

We stay close through the first movement of goods and step back once the pattern is set. The aim is not a dependency but a durable habit — a way of pricing, papering, and checking that a small trading desk can keep running long after the advisory has closed.
